History of Stain Glass

Stained glass was first used by wealthy Romans in their  country estates, villas and palaces in the first century A. D.  It was known as a luxury and status symbol.  Christians adopted the beauty of stain glass when the emperor Constantine became a Christian.  They were free to celebrate their faith and created intricate stain glass windows to tell stories from the bible.

These beautiful stain glass windows came from a church in Dallas created to celebrate the Greek Orthodox faith.
